A solo exhibition including three works by Theresa Wilshusen, explores the (de)construction of identity in death through the perspective of displacement and (re)connection.

 

These works, Seeking Self, The Gender Veil, and Private Views, make up Al Ghorfa and invite the viewer into this chamber to fracture the identities they hold and reconstruct new ones using these three works in three different mediums.

The viewer is invited into the chamber to reconcile ones preconceived expectations, prejudices, and notions of their own identities. Engaging with identities both local and foreign the viewer is able to deconstruct and reassemble the fragments to create a truer sense of identity.
